Meet David Bloom, Nicole Brydon Bloom’s Father
Nicole’s dad David Bloom passed away from complication of deep-vein thrombosis (DVT) at the age of 39 on 5 April 2003. He was an NBC correspondent and at work at the time, covering the war in Iraq.
David is known to have been an energetic and talented reporter with battlefield broadcasts that gave millions a soldier’s view of war. He was a familiar face on morning and nightly news broadcasts, bringing live coverage from the wars in Bosnia and Somalia, from Ground Zero in New York to Israel, Kuwait, and Pakistan.
Nicole was only 9 when her dad passed. Nevertheless, she grew fond of him and proud of him anyway listening to others how great he was and from a few little memories he had with him firsthand.
On 6 April 2023, on his 20th death anniversary, she took to her social media to fondly write she is going to be forever proud of him, endeared by his sense of humor and in awe of his intelligence and commitment to the truth. On other occasions, she has been also seen thanking him for being “such an incredible role model and father.”

Melanie turned 60 years old in 2023. She was born to her parents August M. “Gus” (died March 2015) and Candace Lynne McMaster of Wichita, on 2 January 1963.
In addition to her parents, Melanie also grew up alongside three siblings: Rhondalyn, Christopher Bohm, and, Daniel “Dan” McNulty.
