Woman Passes Away from Injuries Sustained from Fall at Palo Alto Fire

Rodgers had jumped from the third floor of a burning home on West Savory Street, Palo Alto, on Tuesday. She was rushed to a waiting helicopter and flown to Allentown for her injuries. Coroner Buglio reported that Rodgers's cause of death was listed as "multiple traumatic injuries due to a fall."


A woman who jumped from a burning home in Palo Alto has passed away.
According to Lehigh County Coroner Daniel A. Buglio, Joanne Rodgers, 53, of Coburn, Penn Township, Centre County, died Thursday evening at Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest.

Rodgers had jumped from the third floor of a burning home on West Savory Street, Palo Alto, on Tuesday. She was rushed to a waiting helicopter and flown to Allentown for her injuries.

Coroner Buglio reported that Rodgers's cause of death was listed as "multiple traumatic injuries due to a fall."

The investigation into the cause of the fire was listed as accidental and was said to have originated from a hot tub in the rear of the home.

A male who lived in the home and a firefighter were also transported with injuries. Their conditions were not known as of this posting.
