BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — The Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic kicks off this morning with Cap-Ed kids day! Allowing local kids to get their own tethered hot air balloon ride for free!
Hundreds made their way to Ann Morrison Park this morning to get in on the high flying fun that continues through Sunday!
"If you live in Boise you gotta take advantage of all of the amazing things Boise has to offer," says event-goer Tucker Maile. "And this is one I remember going to when I was a kid so its always fun to share the memories with your children."
Cap-Ed kids day is one of a kind this year, taking these small minds to new heights.
"Because I get to go up in a hot air balloon!" exclaims Simon Weickum, "I'm so excited, it's so fun!"
Crowds packed into Ann Morrison park this morning to get a view of Spirit of Boise's mini debut, both young and old.
"This is my son Wyatt and we just barely missed the festival last year so we had to make sure we were here for the first day," shares Thomas Mills.
And with over 50 hot air balloons set to fill the skies this week, allowing the Boise community to get up close, toenjoy this one of a kind high flying event.
"I think it's a really unique experience and its not something you see every day, especially this many," shares Beatrice Nascimento.
"All these years of watching them go up, I've never taken a ride so it still has that childhood wonder about it," shares Tucker Maile.
The Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic continues through Sunday with take off every morning at 7:20am at Ann Morrison Park.
