For me, more than the award the fact that I've been chosen among the elite companies of the actors who I have been a fan of like Govinda, Aamir Khan, Salman, Ajay, these are the people that I've learnt from. God, I wish I could dance like Govinda, I could act like Aamir, I could look like Salman and fight like Ajay, that would be really marvellous but then you don't get just everything. You just have to work hard. I especially want to thank the directorial team which helped me get this award. There is Aditya Chopra who is so young, there is Karan Johar, there's Sameer, there's Ahmed and Uday."

"In the morning, Aditya called me up and said, ‘Dog, are you nervous?’ and I said, 'Yes, I am very nervous' and I asked him, 'Aditya, dog are you nervous?' I would like to say that every dog has his day and Aditya today, ‘it's ours’," he added.
Meanwhile, DDLJ has been listed as one of the 10 Bollywood movies you must see before you die by The Times of India. It is also included in the reference book 1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die, along with two other Hindi films, Mother India (1957) and Deewaar (1975). The British Film Institute has ranked it twelfth among the top Indian films of all time. Additionally, it has made it to Box Office India's list of Biggest Blockbusters Ever in Hindi Cinema.
